 Position Summary

The Chile Office Manager leads the Modernizing Medicine operations in Chile. Responsibilities include, Legal Representative, Human Resources Manager, Administration and Finance, Planning and Budgeting, Purchasing, Procurement and Logistics. The Chile Office Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the office to include recruiting, onboarding new hires, facilities management, payroll and contract administration. The first duty of the person in this role is to protect and project the company’s culture of collaboration, transparency, and respect for the people who comprise the company and oversee the health and productivity of the team in Chile while working in strong coordination with managers in the US. The person in this role must be able to communicate cultural differences and negotiate and manage them with our U.S. headquarters.

 

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Legal representative who acts on behalf of Modernizing Medicine to carry out the needed contracts and operational transactions

 Represent Modernizing Medicine before the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (Sii)

 Serve as head of the Chile office in terms of direct contact with suppliers, products, services and third parties

  Responsible for leading recruiting, hiring and on-boarding processes for Chile

 Serves as liaison between managers and direct supervisors in the U.S.

 Responsible for the payroll process, updating of contracts, and attendance records

 Propose improvements to the People Management policies and procedures

 Manage HR process in coordination with headquarters HR to ensure compliance with the Chile Labor Law

 Promote the individual and collective well-being of workers and compliance with the Code of Good Labor Practices, non-discrimination and interpersonal relationships

 Responsible for preparing financial and accounting reports, providing support to the accounting firm and maintaining the accounting regulations of the company.

 Report and escalate any issues to Corporate Accounting and Finance team

 Deliver planned and on-demand reports to support local and corporate audits for Purchasing, Procurement, Logistics and Operational Management

Experience and Skills Requirements

Typically requires 5 – 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

 Must be fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)

 Must be able to multi task between Finance, Accounting, Operations and HR

 Skilled at managing people and process in Chile and with the U.S leadership

 Must be knowledgeable of local laws and regulations that will have an impact on the Chile operations

 Great interpersonal communications and able to demonstrate strong leadership skills

 Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving ability

 Excellent teamwork and detailed-oriented

 Understand cultural differences and facilitate understanding with U.S. headquarters
